Instructions (10 steps)

Dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tsp sugar, proof 10 minutes.

Beat egg yolks with remaining sugar until pale.

Mix flour, cardamom, and salt.

Add yeast, egg mixture, butter, vanilla, zest. Knead 15 minutes.

Knead in raisins. Let rise 2 hours until doubled.

Divide into 2 tall cylindrical molds (coffee cans work!).

Fill molds only halfway. Let rise until doubled.
