Instructions (8 steps)

Layer meats in large heavy pot - beef, then lamb, then pork.

Season each meat layer with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Layer vegetables on top - onions, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes.

Add garlic cloves and bay leaves between vegetable layers.

Add just enough water to barely cover everything.

Bring to boil, immediately reduce to very gentle simmer.

Cover tightly. Cook 3-4 hours without stirring or lifting lid.
